Membership FAQs

How much do activities cost?

The vast majority of activities are offered at no charge to members. Some of our classes do carry a small fee, but if you are a member of the Siouxland Center for Active Generations your class fee is less than that of a non-member. Simply inquire in the Activities Office about specific class fees.

The Siouxland Center for Active Generations boasts a large parking lot for Center patrons. We would ask that able bodied members park in the spaces farthest from the main doors.

Becoming a member is easy! Membership dues are a nominal $52 per year. Once you become a member our monthly newsletter, the Sunshine News, will be emailed directly to your home. You can request that it be mailed. Our Membership Coordinator may be contacted directly at 712-255-1729.

How many members does the Siouxland Center for Active Generations have and how big is your facility?

Center currently has close to 1,300 members. Our facility is 30,000 square feet and during the course of a normal week we use virtually every square inch!

How is the Siouxland Center for Active Generations funded?

Like most non-profit organizations, our funding comes from a variety of sources. We work very hard to keep membership prices low by fundraising and asking for community/business partnerships. Currently, it costs Active Generations $350.00 per year for each member, while we only charge $52.00 to the member. That leaves a big financial gap that Active Generations must fill with fundraising and other financial support. We do not receive any funding from our city, our county or our state. The Center is proud to be a United Way of Siouxland agency and we receive funding thanks to United Way. The funds we receive from the United Way of Siouxland cover about 13% of our budget. Membership dues covers about 12% of our annual budget, and the coffee shop and gift shop add about 6% more. For the balance of our budget we rely on

on-going fundraising events, and our community partners.
